Born in Örebro, Sweden, Executive Chef Tommy Franssila studied cooking in culinary schools in Sweden and worked in his home country during his early years. Soon after graduating from university, he started his international career restaurants in London. In 2000, he joined the Hyatt network assuming the position of Chef de Partie and shortly after, was promoted as Sous Chef in the fine dining restaurant at Grand Hyatt Melbourne, Australia, passing through the Hyatt Regency Coolum, Australia as Chef de Cuisine. He then joined Grand Hyatt Bangkok, Thailand as Executive Sous Chef and assumed his first role as Executive Chef at Grand Hyatt São Paulo, Brazil. Chef Tommy has resided in Kuala Lumpur since January 2012.
